What is the Admission Criteria?

We serve seniors over the age of 60, who are in need of non-medical care. Residents under the age of 60 may be admitted if they have similar needs and are compatible. Residents may use cane, walker or wheelchair. Program is specific to people requiring assistance with activities of daily living, medication management, personal care and supervision.

Residents with mild cognitive impairment, low-vision/ blindness, post-stroke residents, and residents with incontinence are welcome. Several "Allowable Medical Conditions" are permitted, providing the resident is 100% able to care for their medical condition, and/ or they are receiving home health agency services through their insurance provider. We are licensed to care for residents receiving hospice services.

Residents must have a TB test completed indicating no communicable tuberculosis. All applicants must be free from severe mental illness and/ or behavioral problems.

What is the intake process?

We recommend the potential resident schedule a visit to our home. To initiate the application process, medical releases are completed and an interview is scheduled. At the interview, the physician report will be reviewed, assessment information will be obtained, and a Needs and Services Plan will be developed. After the interview, the Administrator will determine eligibility.

After an offer of placement is made, a Pre-Placement interview is scheduled to complete the Admission Agreement and Admission Forms. On the designated move-in day, medication and inventory forms are completed.

What is the cost of placement?

Fees are based on individual needs. We offer four (4) levels of care. Levels of care and fees will be discussed at the initial visit. An assessment determines the appropriate level of care and corresponding fees. Fees are competitive with other RCFEs in the Bay Area.

Lotus Law Home is a private-pay facility.
